Who is Stefano Dioni?
Stefano is a professional who stands out on two fronts in the field of travel and outdoor activities. On the one hand, he is the project manager of Connect Viaggi, a brand specialized in the organization of group activities all over the world, with a strong orientation towards the outdoors and nature. These activities are designed to be accessible to both experts and amateurs, providing authentic and immersive experiences. Stefano takes care of the planning, organization and often accompanies travelers on excursions.
On the other hand, Stefano plays the role of Content Travel Creator, sharing his adventures and passions through his Instagram profile.
My passion grew after a six-month experience in Bali, where I dedicated myself to exploring the island during my free time. When I returned to Milan, I felt the need to integrate the active and outdoor aspects into my professional life.

Being a travel organizer with sports activities, how would you rate having the Mizuno Wave Daichi 7 on your feet for your trip to Bali, and how did these shoes adapt to your needs and the environment you encountered during your itinerary?

During his trip to Bali, Stefano entrusted his steps to the Mizuno Wave Daichi 7, a shoe model that promises durability and performance without compromise. Stefano, with his experience in organizing adventure trips, chose these shoes for their versatility and adaptability to variable terrain.
He told us that the Mizuno Wave Daichi 7 was the ideal choice for the trip. Lightweight, with a design that suits both the long journey to Bali and daily hikes on site, these shoes offer a perfect balance of comfort and performance.

Stefano particularly appreciated the lightness of the shoes and their impeccable grip on varied terrain, ranging from forest paths to volcanic lava. The Mizuno Wave Daichi 7 proved to be robust and non-slip, ensuring Stefano’s safety and stability even in the roughest terrain.
I found the shoe very light, with perfect grip on the different terrains traveled. We walked on forest trails and volcanic lava. The shoe has always been durable and non-slip.
During the hike on the volcano, facing extremely rough terrain that risked damaging the shoes, the Mizuno Wave Daichi 7 demonstrated exceptional resistance. Despite the harsh conditions, the shoes had no significant scratches or signs of wear, maintaining their integrity even after almost a year of continuous use.
Later, during a hike in the rainforest, the shoes proved to be just as reliable, offering a stable grip even on wet and slippery terrain. The Waterfall Track, through the forest with several waterfalls, put the shoes to the test in challenging conditions.
“In the jungle, where the ground was wet and slippery, the Mizuno Wave Daichi 7 maintained excellent grip. This was evident during the hike along the Waterfall Track, where the land was made slippery by the water vapor of the falls.
Stefano is keen to point out that these shoes have not only been used in Bali but “The Mizuno Wave Daichi 7 have also been used during a canyoning excursion in Jordan, completely immersing themselves in the water. Despite this, the shoes have remained in good condition and I will continue to use them.”
Finally, he explains that these footwear are not only suitable for this type of activity:
“I also alternate them for urban use when necessary, and they are also suitable for this type of use.”
So, we are talking about a shoe suitable for different occasions.
What are the needs that distinguish the category of novice travelers and those more experienced in terms of equipment?
Less experienced people need shoes with a higher grip to ensure greater stability. This is because they still don’t have mastery of placing their foot correctly on difficult terrain. I prefer to recommend sturdy shoes that protect the foot and offer a firm grip to avoid accidents. On the other hand, those who are more experienced can opt for lighter shoes with less extreme grip, as they are familiar with the terrain and know how to react to the unexpected without taking excessive risks
During the interview, Stefano shared that during travel arrangements, he frequently receives questions regarding recommended clothing and shoes. People often ask for detailed tips, especially the less experienced who want to make sure they have the proper equipment.
When I understand that they are beginners and we are planning hikes in the mountains, I always recommend a high, sturdy boot. Flat shoes can also work depending on the activity. I love it when travelers submit their options to discuss together
